Corinne “Cori” N. Spencer is an attorney with Culp Elliott & Carpenter, P.L.L.C. in the firm’s Estate Planning practice group. Her practice focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and wealth transfer planning.
Cori primarily works with small business owners and high-net worth clients to develop tax-focused estate plans, administer irrevocable trusts, and form and maintain family and closely-held businesses. Through estate and tax planning, she assists clients in charitable giving, creditor protection planning, and preservation of family wealth. Cori’s favorite part of the job is meeting with families to discuss their goals and handling tax compliance for federal gift and estate tax returns.
Cori came to Culp Elliott & Carpenter after finding a passion for tax at Wake Forest School of Law where her first article regarding income tax gross-ups on back pay compensation awards was published by The Wake Forest Law Review.
Cori assisted in preparing the Firm’s “Recent Development” publications for The Will & The Way for the NC Bar Association in 2023- 2024 and presented on the topic with Paul M. Hattenhauer and Bill Mills at the NC Bar Associations Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Conference in 2024.
